Tahoe was AMAZING! I didn't want to leave!! It was so beautiful and I recommend everyone to visit in the winter at least once in their lives.
Sunday, for Casi's 25th birthday, we took a 30 mile/3 hour private tour through the mountains of Lake Tahoe on Snowmobiles. It was the most fun I've ever had. They go so fast, we caught air and had a crazy time. We drove all the way to the top of the mountains and took many pictures of the beautiful lake and moutainous views.
Monday night, I decided to try snowboarding! Bad IDEA! I got the hang of it, going down the green slopes for about an hour.. learning to turn and how to stop, then Matt had this brilliant idea that I would learn faster if I would just go down a "regular slope." I guess we missed the sign that said "NO BEGINNERS BEYOND THIS POINT" I ended up walking down 2 miles of HELL! Thanks Matt! Needless to say, I won't be snowboarding for awhile, I am bruised up from falling on the ice.
Tuesday, we went skiing all day. The slopes out west are amazing and beautiful. I had only been skiing once before in my life (Liberty, which is a joke) so I learned again for 30 minutes and in no time I was zig zaggin down the mountains at top speeds! It was so thrilling and amazing!! I definitely got a good work out all day!! I was definitily scared of some of these slopes because they went STRAIGHT DOWN, but I said "Hell.. you only live once right?... here we go" and went for it!! The last trip down the mountain we took was about 6 miles long, it never ended, and was such a good trail to ski down on!
The weather was amazing out there... yes it was cold at night (12) but during the day it ranged from 35-55 which was perfect for skiing. Everyone had 15 feet of snow in their front yards because it would snow everyday and stay cold enough where it wouldn't melt!! I saw one man skiing with no shirt on!! CRAZY!! The snow was so powdery it crumbled in your hands when you tried to make a snowball!! Perfect for whiping out!
Wednesday I flew home all day!! Thursday I unpacked and layed around to catch up on my Jet lag and Friday I had Chemo, which went well. This was my 3rd treatment of Chemo so I am 1/4 of the way done! YAY!
Saturday, Me, Jesse, Cinn, Chris, Brady and Ca$h are going to Mikes lacrosse game vs Duke. Should be an amazing game and I am so excited to see Mike play!! Then Cinn and I are going shopping for an Easter outfit for Sunday. (yes, im sure we will be matching, mom!)
After church on Sunday, whoever wants to shave their head with me is welcomed to come over for the festivities or just to watch and wish you had the balls to! Either one.
I feel great.. I love having no hair.. it definitely gives you an awesome out look on life. There are SO many more important things in life besides hair, like health and happiness, I love when people stare at my head.. I just laugh...
Thank you to Aunt Jean for your card in my journal and Erica P for your always funny letters. Thanks Chanel for your amazing letter. You are too cute and sweet!! Intergolactic!! SOO FUNNY! I miss those days! Thanks to Caroline and Dani for their letters last week! I miss you guys, I will come visit Colorado soon, I promise! See you at the Alumni game??
Thats all for now... I'll update you on how the CHEMO is messin with me this time.. always a challenge and something new.. but nothing THE ONE AND ONLY can't handle
Love always,
Melody

That's right, girl, you CAN handle it, and it really made me SMILE a BIG one to read you're a quarter of the way thru! YAY indeed!!! It'll be done before you know it. (And hey, Einstein, people are staring at you cause you're sooo beautiful...duh!) :)
Glad you had such an amazing time in Tahoe! Knew you would. And whoda thunk you'd take to skiing like a pro after a 30-minute lesson?! But I thought by now youda known better than to listen to a "bright idea" from a Shotwell boy?!....
xoxo
