Welcome Parents and Students!
This is the official blog site of Mrs. Rasinen’s gifted classroom. As we discussed at our parent meeting, each student will be creating his/her own unique blog. Each of you have already signed your consent form, so now we are ready to get started. The privacy of these blogs will be protected so that no one may view them other than you, myself and other students in this class. My blog and the blog the students create will be used in a strictly educational manner. I will provide parent newsletters, links to information about gifted education research, and opportunities for students to get involved and pursue their interests. Student blogs will contain their work over the course of the year. This may include assessment answers, collaborative discussions, pictures of class projects, Power Point presentations, and videos created by students in the classrooms. These blogs will serve as a portfolio, and I as well as parents and students, themselves, will be able to view how students have grown and matured intellectually and emotionally over the course of the year. These blog portfolios will contain students’ selected work and showcase their many talents and areas of greatest achievements. Be sure to check this blog weekly to see the challenging and excited learning that is occurring!
