New Apartment, Ry's Show, and the Olympics
Ahhhh...Our new apartment has finally begun to shed the cardboard and bubble wrap and stacks of odds and ends, and begun to look like we REALLY live here

We're so happy we made the, rather impulsive move, to jump out of our lease early and snag a one bedroom that was in our ideal price range on a perfect tree lined, centrally located block...literally one block away from the tiny studio we were squeezing all of our working, playing, sleeping, and eating in.

The thing is, the accelerated timeline, then put us having to be fully out of our old apartment on the exact same day that Ryan's show opened at Manhattan Theatre Source! Soooo....needless to say things got a little hectic.
But we pulled it off :) and our old landlord was in a love induced trance once he saw how clean an nice we left the place.
That's just how we do, yo...We don't play with that security deposit

On top of that Ryan's show has had a great two first weeks of the run. The NY Times gave it a good review and recommended it's readers to go see it :) SWEET!

Speaking of moving... My dad has gotten a job in Philly, so now my parents are selling the house that my family has lived in for close to 15 yrs...I remember when I picked out the house plan in the back of a Southern Living magazine, LOL, ....and moving to Philly at the end of this month! It's great 'cause now they'll be so close to me'n'ry, but it'll be a pretty big shift from small-town southern P-cola.

Oh! Did you all see the opening ceremonies of the Olympics?
They were stunning.
I want the whole thing on DVD......ok....maybe we can leave out the parade of nations ;p

I've been noticing some people on here dogging the Olympics, and how much money the Chinese are spending...
And to all of them, I would like to say.... Chill out. man.
I am fully cognisant of the complex ambiguity that is this event.
But sometimes we just need to find the positives when and where we can.
And continue to deepen our understanding, without our minds already made up in any particular direction.

That being said...
I did have a dream last night that I was in an Olympic event were I was building IKEA furniture and mounting dry-wall anchors to hang mirrors

MuchLove!

Shannon,
Thank you for your kind expression on my last post! It is always meaningful to hear of such appreciation and I feel encouraged to continue striving to do good.
Congratulations on your new dwelling, your father's new job and Ryan, him also...well, what is his show about, is it off Broadway?
I did not see the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, my brother show it. He recommended to me of finding a recording of it and watching it. I heard the China government spent 40 billion dollars on the preparation of the games. I guess it ought be a real show for that kind of money. Good health to you!

Did you get gold? :-)

They brought Ikea here recently, and it was insane. I never did go there, because I've heard it takes HOURS to get out of there.

I loved the opening and closing of the olympics... and yes I agree with you abot people just chilling out about all the money that was spent. To often we find bad things and do not look to good things.

Well I hope you enjoy the new place.... I dont like the moving but I love looking at new places lol
