Starting off,my name is Matija. I am an American of Serbian descent..well half anyway. While I am proud of my roots, I am also a proud American. I have been to Serbia twice..to Belgrade and Novi Sad (where my dad is from) I have also travelled to Kosovo where my wife hails from in Mitrovica..an ethnic Serb.
  I am a HUGE futbol fan..Belgrade Red Star all the way..same with basketball. However the American me is a New York Yankees fan. I have been married for two years now with one daughter who is almost two and a new baby girl on the way due in June.
  My Grandfather Sasa served as a Chetnik during WWII with the Dinara Division for which I am proud. He never says much about it.  In his honor,I often wear my Sajkaca cap and Dinara Division T-shirt to show that I am proud of his service to our people and what being a Chetnik stands for.
