 Get there!
What a week it's been already. A year before, 40 hours a week seemed both awful and unbearable to me. Now, I'm working 10 to 12 hour days, everyday and it doesn't faze me one bit.

I get up between 5 and 6, go for a walk and come home to get ready for my day. Rob and I walk down to this coffee shop called the daily news where I "begin" my day with a tall iced coffee. Yes mom, coffee is now an avid part of my diet. Walk to work, which today will be with family #1, swimming lessons, windsurfing lessons, tennis lessons, (not for me) then swap kids and go meet family #2 and have lunch. I might add that the moms coordinate packing me lunches which I think is the SWEETEST thing considering my own mom packed my lunch pretty much up until last year (I know, me=HUGE DORK). Anyways, after lunch I walk to job #3 today which is my position at wine store. I officially started on Monday, my first 6 hour shift, and it came so naturally to me that the manager and the owner felt comfortable enough to let me run the store alone while they ran down to the ferry to receive 24 cases of wine. I grossed more in the hour they were gone than they did throughout the entire day. I suppose it's fair to add it was between 4:30 and 5:30, when most people are getting done with work and making their first major stops. Hahahaha. So what? I had an advantage. In this tiny community it is a blessing because yesterday Rob was already hearing from other staff and several customers about what "a wonderful job" I was doing. Not bad, not bad at all. Back to my day, so I work 1:30 to 6ish, and then walk back to family #1's house where I get to be the evening babysitter which should get me home about 9 or 10 where I immediately pass out due to sheer exhaustion. I have suffered from insomnia nearly my entire life, UNTIL NOW. Who knew that some good, hard, old' fashioned work could turn me into a 10 month old infant when it finally comes to be quitting time? NOT ME.

Yesterday I was with family #2 yesterday and the little girl had a friend over (who was adorable and so behaved) and we went down the yacht club to go "crabbing". This is essentially the east coast equivalent of fishing. We baited our "lines" with bacon and crabbing ensued. I managed to catch three of the little buggers to both of the girl’s absolute astonishment. One exclaiming, "But aren't you from Wisconsin?? People there don't know how to be good at crabbing!?" Well folks, apparently I have a crabbing career in my future if I decided to pass on grad school and become a teacher. *Pumping fist in air motion*

Backing up to yesterday morning, I started my "teaching" career as a QuickBooks instructor. Thank you Ellen for teaching me everything I know!!!! We paid bills, created customers, invoices, vendors, and the like. It felt great to feel so educated about a program that is essentially second nature to me now thanks to my father's company. Seljan Company shout-out!!

This weekend is going to be terrifically busy as well. I am helping run the wine store all weekend and after my shift Saturday I babysit for family #1, then it's Sunday morning church babysitter and I signed up to work Sunday at the wine store because we are redoing the entire stock room. It would be Jim H's worst nightmare, so hopefully I can help out a little bit. Then after that I'm going to start moving my stuff over to my NEW ROOM!!! The wonderful lady I'm working with at the wine store/real estate company came to this conclusion: I am a realtor that can't find you a place so I better just let you come stay with me until I can" Lovely. Her family is awesome, the kids are 16, 15, and 12; I've already decided that I am going to be Mom #2 and help out with anything that needs helping out with.

In closing, I feel like I have finally "arrived" here on Fisher's Island.
