You can't make someone happy if they don't want to be. You can't love someone if they are not willing to be loved. You can't make someone trust if they don't want to be trusting. And it is all so frustrating. I have been there, done that, and have a closet full of the t-shirts to prove it. I hope that things will turn out well for you. Maybe the person needs to have time to figure out who they want to be, because loving someone, trusting someone, and being happy with yourself are all life and attitude changes that need a little time to sort out.

Just live and love. That is all you can do. If the person wants to finally accept it, then that is great, if not, then you can move on with no regrets. I pray all goes well for you in this situation.
