Nora Gibson Performance Project 

Jamie, Can't wait to know which phrases you ultimately work with.
One theme I noticed in some of the phrases (aside from the connectedness of the paper doll image) was movement propelled by keeping the body off-center. The phrase with the lunges on releve and the phrase where you appear to lead mostly with your head are two examples where this was most apparent. In contrast was the rooted quality of the floor combination and the one with the gestures where you're standing in place. I didn't get a chance to note this contrast at the meet & thought I'd bring that up.

Hi Nora. Danielle here.

I've been thinking about the hypothetical question you posed on Sunday "What might a contemporary ballet look like"... particularly as it relates to your wonderings on "what to wear".

Can you talk a little bit more about what aspects of ballet are of interest to you? 
There are so many (ie: the classical structures within ballet, the hyper-reality and absurdity that exists within classical ballet performance, etc etc).

So before I go off on a tangent, it would be great to know how you're thinking about this hypothetical question as it relates to what you're making. But only if you like, and if this is helpful to discuss at this time.

ashley here. this is separate from your question but wanted to point something out as we use the word "contemporary" 

all dance being done in this moment is contemporary. bc we are people. of the moment. doing a dance. in the moment. everything is contemporary. 

is there another word that would better explain what we mean?
