Last night I found a young woman on Sargent &
Mcgee(somewhere in Winnipeg) after midnight.
She was sitting at a bus stop bench. Holding her

summoned my attention with a wave. Standing up
she came up to the passenger window.
When I rolled it down she asked me,
"Could you give me a ride home?
Someone stole my shoes. I'll do anything.

on the dial. A country fan no doubt. But anyway,

twenty dollar bill, a delapitated pair of sneakers and
two socks, that used to be white & were properly
vented with one hole each. I sped her back quickly to
an address close to the same street corner mentioned
earlier in this fable.
