“This scar, this one right here, this one is for you: for my hate and pain and even remorse. This scar symbolizes everything I hate about you. But this scar is also for something else. This scar shows every attempt I had to trust you, to talk to you. Every time I wanted to say I word, I said it right there.”
You continue to stare, unsure of what to say. I see your lips move, but no words come out. A grin comes to my face; I can see the confusion in your eyes. I pull off my shirt and press my left breast against the glass. A heart-shaped crevice is drawn deep into my flesh: fresh, beat red and swollen across my chest.
“This scar, on the other hand, is for no one, it is the scar of my dreams, the scar of love. Every night I meet the same girl, her beauty and love fills me with a hope, a hope I lost long ago. She can help me; she can make me feel better. Though my scars my never fully heal, I might.”
