View Blog    Selfishness I'm writing about selfishness. It seems rampant nowadays. Gone are the days it seems when it was considered noble to think of others first. These days, the impression I get is that it's a me first society. Some people have got it worse than others.  For them, what they want comes first, foremost and always.  They don't appear to give a tinker's cuss what anyone else wants then they justify taking what they want with pathetic, lame reasoning.  Am I on my own in thinking like this or are there others out there who are finding the same thing?  I find I'm alone in thinking of others first.  Being this way has meant that I've been repeatedly stepped on with the result that now I'm starting to become inconsiderate just as the selfish people around me are inconsiderate.  This is a worry as my behaviour is a reaction to the behaviours of others.  Is there anyone out there who can advise on how to react when one runs into selfishness? Is there a solution to living with it? How does one handle it? In this sense everyone is selfish. There is nothing wrong about it. But there are some other things without which you cannot survive. That is your ethics, moral and passion. You are not a human without these. It differs from man to man. Those who got most of it are super-human. It's not possible to be a super-human practically but at least we can try to be a human, rather to be an animal. Love yourself, have respect on you. Only then you will love others. If you find your surroundings full with agony you will feel sick. Those who don't have any respect to others they do not deserve to get the label of humanity. Why do you bother yourself for them? You only can try to let them show the way of humanity. Don't let yourself down. The world is only for the winners. You must not leave your place for the inhuman, you must stand against odds and preach the humanity. Only then you will find your life much more valuable. I started getting hateful because I'm surrounded by hateful people, I guess it's the same thing. I'm still striving for a heart of gold, and all I can say is that with your dilemma, it will be an uphill battle not to give in to the whims of society. Just stay your sweet self and try to find a balance where your not so exposed to people like that but your not in seclusion either.
