  9-11

The inocent people who lost their lives in the attack on 9-11 should be held in mind with greatrespect, yet kids still go to school and adults to work on this day. Is that right?

You have a point Red,It should be remembered with respect for the
innocent dead. Even a 'moment of silence' is better than nothing.
I think though that we have too many school holidays and too
little understanding of why that particular day is meaningful.

While I do agree that what happened on that day is horrible and
unforgettable we have soldiers dieing everyday and families being
left without spouses, parents, and children and we barely bat an
eye let alone take a day off in memory of them. I think as
parents and Americian citizens it is our job to remember all that
have lost their lives and teach our children to respect that and
being out of school to them is only a day of fun not rememberance

there is no draft in this country and everyone overseas
volunteered. I think the way we should honor the dead is to be
the asses of the assholes that did it.

it is right.the lives of the lost ones should be mourned, but by
mourning for a time, you will be more able to move on,sattisfied
that you have honored the souls of those killed. if we didn't go
to school or work we would have given the terorists what they
want. would those deceased have wished for that?

the tragitty of 9-11 occured when i was very small. i was only in
kindergarten, so i had no idea what had happened. all of my
classmates were frightened. i could tell because they were either
screaming or crying. i did not understand what was wrong. i asked
several of my classmates what was the matter, but all turned away.
as the years wore on i began to realize what 9-11 meant to
people. now i understand the pain. most have moved on, but i pray
for those who have not.

People are losing their lives everyday. They are celebrated by
those who carry on. We are fucked when it comes to holidays.
Completely fucked.

Carrying on is what says you did not get defeated, to stop and do
nothing, is to do nothing. Lots of uk people were there too.
Don't forget all the other things too, 1100hrs 11.11. Don't
get angry with the soldiers who else will give their lives for
their country? are any of you strong enough to make this selfless
act? Before it comes back I was at one time a brittish
soldier. To stop is what they want. We have had the IRA for
years, sometimes funded by USA citezens.

Life goes on...get over it..It was a tragedy there have been many
others and there will probably be more.

Not especially.Remember the 9-11 "victims" or
technocrats really were making victims in other ways for over 30
years so....nope.

The thought of 9-11 makes my heart sink. Innocent or not? Lord
Jesus Christ Son of the Living God have mercy upon us all for you
alone are 100% pure perfect true...sinless. Amen. The Lord our
God is the Creator of all and therefore to me all are at some
level respectable even if it remains deep down and not visible to
the human eye. I like to think that no life is ever lived in
vein so I give thanks now to God for the lives of these people
whoever they are. In my view the 9-11 event would best prompt
us to focus on peace making. Jesus said "Blessed are the
peace makers for they shall be called children of God" and
He also said when a follower was trying to prevent His arrest
(and eventual crucifixion)through the use of violence "Put
away your sword [weapons of war]. Those who live by the sword
shall die by the sword." Don't be sad. God is merciful
and He tells us that 'mercy triumphs over judgement'. Who could
be more merciful than God? His hand holds them in peace.

I think that making a holiday of 9/11 where businesses and
schools are closed will do little to gain respect for those lost
on that fateful day. Like most other holidays, people will just
be happy to have a day off without considering the importance of
the day. Some schools broadcast slideshows and videos in the
classrooms which is more than most kids would be doing on a day
off.
