Wow. I finally have a half a second to sit down at my computer! My life has been a whirlwind lately, so many things going on. I haven't even had time to think!
First, I got my dream job!!!! Now, this has been a mixed blessing. I have wanted this job for years, but, had to wait for someone to leave. I was lucky, the person who left was not due to retire, but took a different position. So, I am not a world history teacher for 9th and 10th graders!
The process has been stressful. They had a man in as a 'long term sub.' He had his history certification. He f*ed up. It was a given he would get the job, but, he ruined it for himself. So, I have had to take over 6 classes, in October who have had no structure, no rules, and not had to do any work or homework all year. It has been nuts! Plus, I had no planning time. They called me on a Monday, and I started on Tuesday.
I've been trying to get things going, get some structure, and help the students actully LEARN. It's hard when I have little A*hole students, who have no problem saying right to my face "You know, you're a F*in B*tch." Oh, thats unfortunate, you really think I care you little sh*t? Everyone thinks teaching is easy because you don't work summers and you only work until 3. Well, let me tell you. I have been working from 7:30 in the morning, until I leave school at 5, then I work at home until 11:30 before I go to bed. I get up at 5:45 and start all over again.
There is SO much for me to do and learn, and it keeps getting piled on. It's good though, cuz it keeps my mind off my love life... or lack thereof.
I'm not really ready to write about it, but Cowboy and I are on a "break." It's complicated, and without going into details it won't make sense, but he did some things, I did some other things, (his things worse), we moved in together, which was WAY too fast, less than a month later, adn "things" were done and said and now he is about 2,000 miles away "finding himself" while I get my feet under me and my head on straight as well. I miss him. I miss him like crazy. He will be back, and we have talked about trying to work things out. Most people, I wouldn't give this chance. I'm not sure what it is about him... He says he wants to, I want to.. I don't know. It's complicated, and I don't want to get into it right now.
But, work keeps my mind off it. It helps. I just pour myself into it. I work waitressing all this weekend too, so I won't even have the weekend to think about how miserable I am with the things that have happened with my love life.
Oh, what else? I have two kittens at home now. Along with my sisters two dogs, my computer crashed, so I have to go to my dads or moms to do my school work, and, I don't get a paycheck until October 30th, and have.. oh.... -3 in my account.
So, life is stressful, but getting better. It has the potential to be great I think. I am very happy about the job, even though my kids suck right now. I hope that some time soon I can start reading again. I miss catching up on everyone here!
