Why is it that we can go for months without talking to some of our closest friends...but if our significant other doesnt call for a day we start to go crazy? I was talking to a close guy friend this morning and I told him I was stressing about the fact that bf didnt call me all day yesterday and when I texted him this afternoon I asked if something was wrong and he very nonchalantly said "no why?" and I was befuddled... and my guy friend simply stated..."do you get angry or confused if i dont call for two or three days?" of course not... you have you're own life whatever whatever... and he went on to explain that in guy world you can go a whole day just kinda doin what you're doin and not really think hey i should call the gf to tell her im alive, and in reality most guys want to have a relationship similar to my work week... work two days off for one work two days off for two... so i guess this is my question... Is it really as simple as that?? In guy world do you just not think to call...and if you do think to call the thought is easily lost in the episode of sportscenter on the TV?? Or is my friend just trying to put me at easy so I stop asking myself if I did something to piss the bf off? Now mind you this strictly applies to non-married/dating relationships... we're exclusive but not a "together forever" relationship...if that makes since...anyways just curious...

I don't think it's as easily defined as imitation of the work week. In reality the answers you receive will be as varied as the people available to answer this question.
I believe its more along the line that guys don't think the same way as a woman and hence they are not thinking directly about "her" 24/7. This doesn't mean he's not thinking about you on occassion, its just hes not completely preoccupied with you his choosen partner.
I think guys need to be reminded, just tell him youve been thinking about him all day and are wondering if hes thinking about you. His answer will be yes. At this point ask him directly to call you occassionally when he's thinking of you.

Maybe its because in a friendship its almost a given that they will be there and we dont have to bend over backwards to figure out the actual relationship part. Well thats how my friends are....I know they will always be there, no matter how far or how long its been since we last talked.
Just a thought...on the other hand I could have no idea wtf im talking about! haha
But you know what...your post reminded me of Carrie from Sex and the City...it just sounded like something she would write! Props! haha
