i am new here and had the same question actually. so, people just advised me to write for myself, i mean about problems and topics which are close to me. maybe if you write about something you are really interested in and you really want to share with, then your blog will definitely find its readers?

Honesty is always good. I like raw and gritty writing but I avoid putting entries here that are sensitive areas for me. After all this is the internet. I advised careful consideration of what you share. I really like the openness of your entry and you ask all the right question too. keep blogging.

You just keep at it. Comment on others blogs and regularly post at the forums. Eventually you will gather a few friends who will regularly post their comments and increase your views and slowly and steadily this group will grow in size...these things take time.
Or you can just write about your most twisted sexual fantasies. That always gets the views high

Listen here bubby, people who refresh their blogs are crap. And ratings and views are nothing but shits to boost someone's self esteem by blogging. Its been going on for months now.. The "Who gets to the top and who sticks to the bottom". And its sickening. So if you happen to pass by a blog which seems total crap to you, trust what you see. It is crap and its just been clicked on a zillion times. There are a lot of good blogs here who don't get much attention but it makes a lot of sense and can pretty much be the shit.

And a contents of a blog? Your thoughts. Your feelings. Your day to day activities. Whatever it is you wanna write... Its your page. No one can get it and state it for you.
