I have lived a charmed life
though I sometimes can't see
the love and affection 
that was given to me

My Dad gave me skills
that would last a life long
My Mom gave me strenth
now I walk among the strong

What one was lacking
The other made up for
when Dad could not comfort
my Mom would make sure

When Mom did not feel well
Or was feeling blue 
Dad took me to the park
he knew just what to do.

When I needed a hug
and Dad could not understand
my Mom was always there
to hold my hand.

Yes I was blessed
not in the way most would think
not with money or riches
but with an unbreakable link

I was blessed with two parents
who made me number one
above themselves and their needs
above anyone.

Yes they loved me when I talked back
and told them how it should be
they loved me when I yelled at them
they loved me unconditionally

Yes, I am blessed
with a love unbreakable
and I am who I am 
Because of the love of those people

So to all of you out there
Who think I am nice
go visit my Mom
a simple thank you will suffice

For she is the one
along with my Daddy
Who shaped who I am 
and would do it again gladly.


I love you Mommy, please, show this to Daddy, if he will take the time.  I hope you guys both know how much I love you and that I appreciate all you guys have done for me.

For everyone else, thank your parents for making you who you are....weither they were good to you or perfect, imperfect and riddled with mistakes, they set you on the path to where you are today and the people you love...So here's to our parents!  Show them some love!
