Drivers: Please be aware that from July 1st 2008 it will be obligatory to carry a reflective jacket / gilet and a warning triangle in your car at all times in France, as it (already) is in Spain. Non compliance if stopped will, of course, result in a fine!

Yes, as far as I'm aware... any and all motorised vehicles should be equipped... not only with triangles and gilets (as per the comment) but also with a set of spare light bulbs and ALL documentation (carte grise, Control Technique and insurance documents) as this can be demanded for immediate inspection at any time by the Gendarmerie...
