| His wish was for many fish |
|
One day in the village of Topay lived many poor fisherman. I was probably the slowest one of them all and always late. On Fridays, I like to go fishing early though and get the best spots and for a change have enough food. Pulling in my catch and ready to go home, I thought I had some real whoppers. Greatly startled, I had caught a mermaid. "Mmmm," I said with a big smile, "You will give me food for three days at least."But the mermaid said, "If you let me go I'll grant you three wishes. "Okay! now," my reply and, being a wise old fisherman, I let her go. Still completely in disbelief, I had to show compassion for her and set her free to go tell wild stories somewhere else. Yet, I will try it out. "I wish I had a fish in my hand." In one second, I did hold a fish. Joy overcame me. "I wish my house was full of fish." When I got home, I opened the door and a bundle of fish fell on me. "Hmm. How am I going to get rid of all this fish? I know. I wish every fish was a hundred dollar bill!" And now the house had stacks of money everywhere. I got rich and lived happily ever after!
