| V-Day... sounds too much like D-Day to me.

Every Valentine's day, man or no man, is a bummer for me and I'm sure many others around the world. I've come to realize this holiday is simply to make those who are single or fighting with their significant other that you're having a shitty day.
I mean whats the point in spending an entire day dedicating it to "love" when most of us aren't even sure we know what love is. Let alone, if the relationship we're in or thinking about being in can be considered love yet, if ever.
It puts pressure on people who are trying to have a simple happy relationship to take a step further. It puts expectations into women's heads that are almost NEVER filled. It is just an all around waste of time. So this year I've decided to boycot the entire day. I'm at work, as if it were a normal day. I'll be at the bar after work, as if it were a normal day. And when I go home, I'll be going to sleep alone, as if it were a normal day.
I read someone else's rant about the terrible V-Day and there was a line that caught my attention. And even though I'm not sure how I feel about "love" or the need to have a significant other, what was said made a lot of sense to me and I think may strike some of you with the a shocking vision of truth. So I'll leave you with the quote. To everyone who doesn't have a Valentine, I know where you're at and you have my love on this day of abandonment for all singles out there.
" All I can say to the younger folks out there... if you find the one, don't let him or her slip away by saying "I have all the time in the world". The older you get, the fewer people you meet. Just because you're "swimmin' in women"... doesn't mean you will be a year or two later. "
