| Catch Up on 'Battlestar Galactica' in Eight Minute

Before the beginning of Lost season 4, a video popped up online entitled "Lost in 8:15." It was a recap of the first three seasons of the series jam packed into eight minutes, with a few amusing asides added in as well. Now that Battlestar Galactica is preparing to return for its fourth season on Friday, April 4 at 10pm, a similar video has appeared entitled "What the Frak?" In just eight minutes it completely prepares you to watch the new season of the Sci Fi Channel series, and it even has a few laughs thrown in as well. Before watching the video, be sure to prepare your brain for all of the Cylon double crossing and complicated romantic entanglements.
You wouldn't think an eight minute video would have time to weave in humor amongst all of the Battlestar Galactica mythology, but somehow the people behind these recaps are brilliant at it. For example, one aspect of Laura Roslin's (Mary McDonnell) character that I completely love is her constant desire to throw her enemies out the airlock. I love it so much that I wish I could have a talking Roslin action figure that would yell, "Throw him out the airlock!" The "What the Frak?" recap does a great job at pointing out how awesome that is, while also making some quick jokes about fat Apollo (Jamie Bamber), Kara (Katee Sackhoff) and Lee's desire to beat each other senseless, and Colonel Tigh's (Michael Hogan) constant drunkenness.
Not only is it wildly entertaining, but the recap compilation is wonderfully informative. Most of us won't have time before the premiere to revisit Battlestar Galactica's entire third season when the DVD is released on March 18. These clips act as a swift summary of all the important beats in season 3, and even better, you get to see them without those pesky filler episodes sandwiched in between.
I'd also love to know who the narrator for this compilation is, as it's definitely the same person who handled "Lost in 8:15." She really knows how to zoom through a recap with panache. Watch the video below and enjoy eight solid minutes of BSG goodness:
