 Hypocrisy on War.
Hypocrisy of Christians on POINTS OF VIEW (BBC).

At the Albert Hall thousands of Christians with sickly, holy, faces were singing "Let there be Peace on Earth" ................within minutes three paid killers (soldiers) were singing as part of the programme and not seeing the horrid irony of their presence.
The congregation were clapping and cheering them.

Let there be Peace on Earth.

I recently watched with disgust a group of supposed Christians singingĀ  "let there be Peace on Earth, " and within minutes of chanting this anthem they were appreciatively clapping and cheering three paid killers.........................namely three soldiers back from duty in Iraq or Afghanistan.
This was total hypocrisy.

There is war because the banks want war. The hypocrisy is in participating in the predatory aspects of Commerce. The bottom line is that no man can serve two masters. It is impossible to serve a master that hates God, and still be a Christian.

would you feel the same if your children, your wife, or any family member had been visiting the Twin Towers on the day they were attacked, and you just happened to be strolling up the street saw them waving through the window at you when all of a sudden you saw the building tumble down in front of you.Maybe you should be put in a room full of some of the family members that lost people from these attacks, and voice your opinion about "paid killers".

Skip1957.
Misses the point!
Revenge for evil done to your family or friends is an understandable response to the twin tower destruction.
But it is not a Christian response and should not be dressed up as such.
Revenge for evil in Iraq is not a true Islaamic response...........it is used by pure evil terrorists to dress up their revenge on the USA and British forces.
Paid Killers are Paid Killers and using religious tinsle on the subject is avoiding the main issue. The main issue, of course, is that violence, whoever commits it, is evil.
The desire for revenge and to protect your family and friends is inbuilt into human nature............which illustrates how flawed we are.
Skip1957 seeks to justify our flaws and perpetuate them.

My view for Skip1957 is deep despairing pessimism about the ability of humans to renounce violence and revenge.
If someone threatens a loved one or injures your immediate family your response IS going to be VIOLENCE!
PeaceMarshall's point that one should not be bouncing about with sickly/happy Christian faces when one is about to visit REVENGE on the enemy is totally valid.
Very few of us can really join him and renounce violence totally.
IF SOMEONE SLIGHTS ME I TEAR THEM APART...........but usually on the page rather than the battlefield.

I am searching my mind for one more useful thought on Pacifism and Hypocrisy on War.
My Father, the most gentle of men and an artist, was one of the first to volunteer for service in the Second World War.
His war was a travel epic and he particularly loved Italy and his time in Egypt.
Never once in my memory did he try to dress up war as something glorious or CHRISTIAN he recognised it as evil. He pointedly refused medals and decorations until I bullied him into getting them...........
He was annually sickened by the hypocrisy of the REMEMBRANCE SERVICE in the Albert Hall...........and yet it touched him in a way that he still had to watch it.
I have never served in the UK forces, however, I experienced the cruelty of WAR in Bosnia as a journalist.
When you come upon the body of a charred and mutilated child in a pretty little orchard you do not care whether its parents worshipped in a mosque or "Christian" church. I curse politicians and the hypocrites who bounce up and down in the sickly services mentioned by Peace Marshall.
