 A Very Strange Occurence

As a practitoner of silent meditation, I use incense to help myself relax. But I haven't lit a stick of incense or a candle or a match or lighter in two days. I don't smoke either. But, yesterday morning I woke up to the smell of smoke. I opened my eyes and my bedroom was hazy with smoke but I couldn't see any flames. I jumped out of bed, pulling my canopy aside and darted out of my room and into the hallway. But the smoke didn't cross the boundry of my doorway. I peered down the stairs and saw a bright flash. I couldn't decide if I wanted to risk going down the stairs and facing whatever had made the flash or risk whatever was making the smoke, so I went to the bathroom. I finished my business, opened the door and stuck my head out to see if the smoke was still there. It wasn't.
When I came home last night and entered my bedroom, There was nothing. No burn marks, no ashes, and all of belongings were right where I left them. Normally when I light something in my room, the smell of smoke sticks around for a day or two, but htere was nothing. NOTHING!
I mean, I've had weird things happen in my house before, like strange tapping noises on the windows, low growls from the attic, but this is an all time high on the weird scale. Has anything like this happened to any body else, or am I insane?
