Hello,
I was inspired to write this entry after reading the blog of a 14 year old who posts on this website. From reading her blogs, I could tell that she is dealing with a lot of issues in her life that is causing her to feel worthless and depressed.
I think we have all been there. Someone in our life has in someway made us feel lower than dirt. Someone has done something terrible to us to make us feel totally depressed and worthless. I'd like to share with you all AND the 14 year old about things in my life that had made me feel this way. I'd also like to share how I overcame those feelings of depression and worthlessness, because there is ALWAYS a solution to both!
* I have loved someone with all my heart and soul, only to find out that he was loving someone else with all his heart and soul and I was next to invisible in his world. (Solution: Accepted the fact that he was not meant for me and moved on to be blessed with someone who was placed in my life for a reason.)
* I have lost a job making $37k a year before and ended up on unemployment making $3k in 4 months (annualized at $12k/year, which was a 25k paycut). The bills piled up. Depression set in, followed by worthlessness because I couldn't find a job for 7 months. (Solution: Did the best I could with what I had and continued praying to God for a decent job making the kind of money I was used to making.)
*I have hurt someone that loved me DEEP really bad and caused him to contemplate suicide which made me feel lower than dirt. (Solution: I continuously prayed to God for help dealing with the situation and He did help by making things in our lives normal).
So as you see, just when you think that your life is so depressing and that there is no reason to go on living, remember that there is ALWAYS someone out there who is suffering worse than you are and who DID manage to move on to greener pastures in their life. You too can take the bad and make it good! It may not happen overnight, but it will happen if you have faith and believe. Hold on and tell yourself, "Someday, I will laugh at what I'm going through and I will also be able to help someone get over the same hurdle I had to tackle in life."
Musically Yours,
P.E.JAY
