 JULY 2 - RAIN ON ME!! - (DAY 48)
After work today, I headed out to Alpharetta Georgia to have lunch with a friend of mine who I used to work with. We had lunch at a place called "Wild Wings" and caught up on some past and current events. As soon as she entered the car, she noticed that my face had gotten smaller since the last time we saw one another back in April and praised me for getting my health in check! We ended up pigging out on some fried mushrooms, hot wings, lemon pepper wings, celery and fries. I didn't care WHAT I ate because I knew I was going to work out afterwards anyway so I ate what the HELL I wanted! The food there is AWESOME!! Folks....if you live in the GA area, you have GOT to check it out! It's on Windward Parkway (Exit 11) in Alpharetta, GA right off of the exit ramp next to Office Depot and Cracker Barrell. I can promise you that ANYTHING you order will be good! After we finished pigging out, I went to the gym for my usual 1.5 hour work out session. It felt good when I was lifting those weights and everything but all that damn food I ate made it HARD for me to last my usual hour on the treadmill! I had to FORCE myself to stay up there for an hour even though my body kept saying STOP!!!  I vowed to NEVER do that again! After burning about 700 calories on the treadmill, I headed home to enjoy the rest of my evening.

Once I arrived at my house, laid on the couch to watch TV and the next thing I knew, I was awaken by some soft lips touching mine, which belonged to my husband. I woke up and for some reason, I wasn't hungry at all so instead, I made a couple of calls and decided that since I hadn't been to karaoke in a while AND since I didn't have to work tomorrow, that I would hit a karaoke spot..or two...tonight. So, I got dressed and headed out  to Old National Highway to visit the new Dugan's sports bar. The event was hosted by the fantabulous Mike and Karen Johnson, of "Untapped Talent". It was good seeing them again as it has been nearly 2 months and MANY inches since I last saw them out. I performed a few songs and the crowd really enjoyed my vocals, which is a blessing to me. I immediately noticed something the minute I stood up to sing. Guys at the bar and at the surrounding tables had turned COMPLETELY around to watch me perform each and every song I did. It was cool! OK..at that point, I realized that I am WELL on my way to having NO fear with singing my own sh*t and having people take notice to my presence and what I have to offer vocally. That was the one thing that concerned me when I was VERY obese. When I would sing...people just noticed my voice and I always felt that my stage presence was flawed because I was so ashamed of my appearance. NOW..they are noticing the complete package, which is the way it SHOULD be! It was all good standing up there singing with an abumndance of confidence and even moving my body around in different motions, which is something I NEVER EVER EVER did! GONE GIRL!! I was working that damn room with this new hot bod!! (lol) While I was there, I ran into a couple of buddies of mine. I performed a duet with my friend T.A and it was weird being on stage singing with him because all the women in the room were just loving him to death. I thought I was gonna get a beat down after we finished singing together! (lol)

After leaving Dugan's, I stopped down the street at JR Crickets to sing once again with the host, Tyrone. We performed "Fire and Desire" by Rick James and Teena Marie. The audience was completely STILL during the entire performance and ALL eyes were on us as we sang. The next thing I know...IT HAD RAINED ON US! Someone had taken a fistful of dollar bills and threw them at Tyrone and I as we were singing. Talk about feeling GOOD! I ended up with just enough money to put a few gallons of gas in my car! (lol) It felt good to have that kind of reaction to my overall performance....and NOT just my voice, like I had been used to. Life is good and being healthy is CLEARLY paying off for me and keeping me focused on my goals!

Oh..I got hungry...but I didn't pig out at 1 in the morning. Instead, I came home and had a bowl of cereal with skim milk. I was a good girl! :-)

Niters!
