Have you ever heard the phrase, " well aren't you the pot calling the kettle black ?"

This is a phrase that states that the person you are talking to is calling you something that they themselves are (and generally in abundance).

This phrase was derived from old times when pots and pans were generally black and kettles were generally metallic and reflective. Therefore the pot sees its black reflection in the kettle and thinks that the kettle is black.

Whoa!! You asked for it so....HERE IT IS!!


Hypocrite - DEFINITION
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Hypocrite- SYNONYMS
**fraud
 **phoney
**dissembler
**double-dealer
**pretender
**whited sepulcher

Know any? No?

 Look in the mirror sometimes! We have all fit the description at least ONCE in our lives! Let me give you some examples of a hypocrite so that you will have a better understanding of the word.

A hyprocrite is a person who...........

** tells their friend(s) that they should leave their NO GOOD spouse for cheating on them when in FACT, this person cheats on their spouse and has no conscience for wrecking someone's loving home and making the children of the damaged marriage grow up without a father or mother in the home!

**may be a practicing minister (or minister) who constantly preaches that swearing and telling lies are sinful and will send you straight to hell, yet they swear like a drunken sailor and tell endless lies themselves.

**say that the republicans are evil crooks that favor the rich and that they should not be in the White House, yet the people who make these comments will go to the voting booth and vote Republican simply because they do not like any of the democratic candidates for "personal" reasons that have absolutely NOTHING to do with what they can accomplish for this country!

** talks bad about single mothers who stay home to raise their children themselves while on government assistance, yet they have children at home being raised by a nanny because they feel that their careers is the most important thing in their lives instead of raising their children THEMSELVES!

** goes to church EVERY Sunday morning, catching the holy ghost while praising God in front of the entire congregation and then goes home to get drunk and beat on their wives or to put down their husbands because he is "lacking" in many areas in his life!

AND the list goes on! 

The lesson here is, don't try to act like you are perfect because you are NOT! We have ALL been hypocrites in our lives at least 100 times or more! We are ALL guilty of being a hypocrite. Think about it! Does any of the desciptions above fit you?  It's LIFE...get over it!!! Those of you who are in denial, help yourselves but just KNOW that you are not fooling anyone! :-)
