| Dylanesque goes gold in the UK

A little belatedly i bring you news that Bryan Ferry´s most recent album Dylanesque has been awarded a gold award indicating sales in excess of 100,000 in the UK. The award was made in the week ending the 30th of March 2007. This news is indicative not only of Bryan Ferry´s enduring appeal as an artist in the UK. But also of the continued renaissance of his recent career which has included his grammy award nominated As Time Goes by album the much lauded Roxy reformation and the well received solo album Frantic. Dylanesque continues that upward trend.Bryan Ferry´s recording career to date has only produced one album Mamouna in 1994 which has failed to receive the silver award for sales of 60,000 copies an extra ordinary record of consistency for a man whose career has encompassed 20 odd albums and 35 year. With Bryan Ferry´s public and professinal profile for all manner of reasons at a current high this would seem an apposite moment to reintroduce Roxy Music as a recording entity.I can only hope.Congratulation to Bryan Ferry for this achievement.
