Bryan Ferry concert on the beach Peñón del Cuervo in Malag. Having overcome his comfortable 60's label as a crooner, Bryan Ferry (Washington, England, 1945), continues to be one of the most impeccable, creative and intelligent artists on the international music scene. This one-time leader and spirit behind the now extinct Roxy Music is known for being a "British musical dandy", the epitome of glamour and the personification of melancholy, a film and TV actor, and has always aimed making his love for beauty more than an objective in and of itself, but rather a way of life.
Over the years Ferry has often made covers of his favourite artists. Now he is playing Bob Dylan. In Dylanesque (2007), this British-born singer takes Dylan's songs to his own territory, adding a touch of grandiosity to them, but for no other purpose than to show his deep respect for the American songwriter (whom he does not know personally) and to share the enjoyment of his wealth of songs. |
