Popular kids.
*Warning* I ask a lot of "Why?" Things in here.

We all know them. They're the Lindsay Lohan-wanabes of the future, with their overly-glossed lips and platinum hair extensions. But why are they so popular?

First off, what makes someone popular? These days, it seems to be money and looks. Why are these valued? I mean, money is great and all but it'll all dry up once the average Lindsay has to move out of her house. Looks too, will fade, because just because you're popular doesn't mean you'll escape the brutal ways of Mother Nature and aging. Why isn't intelligence valued? I mean, geeks tend to go onto awesome things, like inventing and making millions off of those fancy phones the Lindsay's enjoy so much [[irony, isn't it?]]. Lindsay's either:

A. Go onto becoming teenage mothers and smokers, hanging around their parent's house for years.

B. Insurance agents or some other kind of boring job in your average suburub in your average house living the average life that isn't globally remembered.

>_> Doesn't anyone care about the future these days, besides lil ol' me?

Second, I would like to ask why these people are considered popular. Besides skin-deep beauty and cash. No one really likes them other than their fellow Lindsay's, so why are they so 'revered'? I mean, why do people look at them and think, "If only I was skinny like them" or some form of that crappy yada yada. It makes me sad to see people comparing themselves to these Lindsay's because the're wasting unrecycleable time thinking about how great they WANT to be rather than how great they ALREADY are.

Anyway, I'm sure I made some spelling errors. I'm a little thrown off because there is starting to be sunlight in the evening again. Cheerio.

I don't think that stereotypes or labels should even exist in the first place. Sure you can describe someone as "rich and good-looking" or "athletic" if you actually KNOW them, but isn't talking about that said label just feeding it? People like talking about it. Its intersting to others. Why? I don't think everyones life is THAT blatantly boring....or is it? Lets focus on our own lives, not others. Word.

i think that popularty is wrong, and that some ppl jus do it because they hav no life, and have to do something in their spare time... but yeah... in college and stuff it usually dies down.
:) thank GOSH

Wow! Nice writing. I see your point. How could someone look at a celb like Lindsay, and think "I want to be like her". They don't know her. Great post. By the way, my name is Lindsay.
