| Wallace and Cheney a Love Affair? and Krugman on D |
A few weeks ago I wrote a scathing review of FOX News’s Chris “truth is just an opinion” Wallace, and I am happy to see that others in the regular media are calling this hack out for his completely ridiculous lack of journalistic integrity. I know, you all are going to say, “It’s Fox News, what can you expect” and I certainly could not argue with that but as David Letterman pointed out Chris’s father was a reporter who tried to “hurt you in an interview” and his son looks more like he wants to make babies with Dick Cheney than actually ask him any tough questions. Andrew Sullivan said of the Chris Wallace’s interview with Dick Cheney was like, “A teenage girl interviewing the Jonas Brothers”, I actually think that is being kind because a teenage girl would at least inquire about their sex lives which might make the JoBros a little uncomfortable. Chris Wallace is a disgrace to his profession, but then again so is FOX, and I think maybe it is time for a class action law suit to force them to take the word “News” off of their name. I am not saying they cannot continue to spew their evil propaganda, Christ we do have Freedom of Speech and all, but there has to be some truth in advertising and what they do at FOX sure the fuck is not news. Back to Chris Wallace, I hope this dipshit looks in the mirror each night before bed and sheds a few tears for how he has disgraced his father who was one of the greatest journalists of his generation. All I have to say to Chris Wallace is, GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU SOULESS HACK. And that’s all I got to say about that.
I was remembering the meeting I went to with my Congressman Tim “the Tool” Johnson who was going apeshit crazy about Americas debt and deficits. So I finally went and read some opinion pieces by Paul Krugman who addressed the issue strait on by basically saying it is much to do about nothing. We have been in worse crises before with greater debt to GDP ratio, and have dealt with it before. As he points out and as I have been thinking all along the issue isn’t projections of 10 years from now for those change every damn year the issue is the growth of the economy and if we can get back on a positive economic track then we can deal with this problem, however if we listen to the “sky is falling” Republicans then we will in no way re-create growth or get this economic engine moving again. We must push forward with what we have started and not pull back, if we have to have more stimulus then fine, but what we cannot do is pull back and just hope things get better, that is what irrational thinking people do, the wish for something instead of trying to make it better. If you want to get a better understanding I would ask you go to the New York Times Editorial Page and look under Paul Krugman, 1945.
Finally we get to the Philosopher of the Week, Noam Chomsky, who said, “If the Nuremberg laws were applied, then every post-war American president would have been hanged.” Here Chomsky is speaking truth to power, and if we look at all the atrocities committed by the United State during our Wars, we really do not have much to hold our head high about expect I guess for the ones we actually won. Chomsky also said, “In this possibly terminal phase of human existence, democracy and freedom are more than just ideals to be valued - they may be essential to survival.” I just love this quote I am not sure if he is right, but I certainly believe freedom to be the essence of my survival. Well friends I finally got a job so I don’t know how late I will post tomorrow, but until then goodbye…
