THREE MORE SHORTS

       CYPRESS STREET AND "B"

Cornered on Cypress Street and "B"
Stands this old and stately tree.
For my whole life that tree's been there
Absorbing the rain and cleaning air.

Constant traffic has passed him by
But that old tree refused to die.
Power lines even went around
For no one wanted to cut him down.

Now he's over eighty cubits tall
Soaking up the Sun to shade us all.
Oh, I'm not saying brains he's got
But he sure can pick a spot.

                        HER

I will never see a more beautiful face
And yet still have her style and grace.
Her eyes so blue with her skin so fair-
Her contagious smile and shining hair.

When thinking of her I start to squirm-
Her legs so sleek, her breasts so firm.
We'll meet one day; I don't know how.
She will love me then; I love her now.

     SUNRISE IN GALVASTON

It's not yet sunrise but certainly not night.
It's called early morning but some say twilight.
It's not at all dark but no way is it bright.
It's a sky with no Sun but, yea, there is light.

Then just a peak, Oh, he's down in the sea.
He's coming I know it; I'll just wait and see.
Yes, there He is; He's coming on up-
Bigger than ever like a bright butter cup.

Well Done James. I wrote that one when I was still looking. These are not my favorites but I'm scaping the bottom of the barrel. I guess I need to start writing again.
