THE COLD
It slowly seeps in through the doors
And is absorbed by hardwood floors.
Then it travels to all my rooms,
Transforming them to icy tombs.

Soon my whole place has gotten cold-
The kitchen, my bed, the darn commode,
But there's one thing it can't attack
And that's the mighty thermostat.

Not here in North Little Rock but when I lived up in Berryville, Arkansas it got so cold sometimes you could hear a limb fall miles away because all the moisture was frozen and the air was clear and chrisp. It was so quiet I guess we were all just waiting for a little warming. It took "not a creature was stirring" to another level.

Thanks for the post and I'm glad you're back.

I'm happy. It took me years to finally get my poems the way I wanted them. It was just for my own pleasure but it is even more pleasurable to see other people like you enjoy them also.

Thanks Holly,
I appreciate that.
It took me about 10 minutes to put that comment on your post last night because it kept deleting itself until I finally figured out I wasn't logged in but at least you got a bunch of hits.
Thanks again,

J

Thanks Roe,

Well, Here's the update on my condition and I won't keep posting it.
OK?

My shoulder's hurt and so's my back -
I guess I should go see a "quack".
My tailbone's broke and so's my bike
But other than that I'm alright.
