This will be a short spontane comment on an issue concerning Dalai Lama. I will join the choir of having something critical to say about Dalai Lama - not from a political stance though - but phenomenological. Indeed, one could comment a lot on the topic of Tibet, even taking risks of political consequences, but I will leave it for now. In fact, even though my former - unbelievable I put out that particular word by accident - country was used as a tool for propaganda. How come it has not been reported by the media, is another question, it's probably some kind of an agreement between states.
Right, yesterday an issue of the TIME-magazine fell in my hands, and in it, there were a few articles concerning Tibet. I read the article about a journalist who had gotten the rare priviledge to take photographs of Dalai Lama reading buddhist scripts in his home. According to the article Dalai Lama only believes in phenomenas approved by science. Indeed facing the British Army with magic axes might not have been the best idea, however if this journalistic report is accurate, and if it means that Dalai Lama only approves phenomena that has been approved as existing according to our general Western dogma, he will just become anordinary fellow in the eyes of this guy. Now, even the Catholic Church approves and credits phenomenas of a more unscientifical nature - two miracles are needed for sainthood - now, if one has been meditating millions of hours, and come up with that conclusion its pretty ironic, actually.
What´s more its probably some kind of an expression, expressing a symbiotic relationship to the West - now the West can rationally approve Dalai Lama too, he is not any dumb twat right, who believes in things not approved by our science. Its scientifical buddhism, so to say. Gone are the days, reported by Marco Polo, when Tibetan Lamas invited to Kublai Khan, could raise Kublais wine glass by sheer telekinetic powers. According to some documents, this was the reason Kublai chose buddhism as state religion actually, none of the other representatives were able to do anything similar. The Christian representative there at the scene, naturally regarded the works of the Tibetan lamas, as the work of The Devil.
Alexandra David-Neel. The Dalai Lama is said to have visited her house on his trip to France. Then again, maybe the TIME-report is just another media outlet. If anyone was unscientific, then Alexandra David Neel.
