It sucks being alone for christmas. Christmas is about being around family and friends. My family lives a couple of hours away, and yes, I could go and visit them. I did that for Thanksgiving, but I felt so out of place. They were all pretty much paired up, so I felt very left out. For xmas, I decided to stay at home and focus on my kids. I will have the kids through xmas morning and then they are going with their father for five days. I have to work for the remainder of the week, so it's better that they are gone with him so they don't tear apart the house over their school vacation.
So far, two guys that I have been chatting with have expressed interest in getting together on xmas day. I will just wait and see how things turn out. Exchanged emails with three guys this morning already.
Today I am focusing on baking cookies and sweets with the kids. We are working on sugar cookies, fudge, peanutbutter blossoms, and maybe even popcorn balls. We have already made banana bread and m&m cookies. I will have enough baking done once today is over.
I am also having a grand old time with my new computer. I bought myself a laptop for xmas. I have been fighting with the kids to get time on my other computer. Now I have my own with a wireless router and I am happy. I can blog or email when I want to instead of scheduling it when it's convientent around the kids' schedules.
Time for lunch and then back to more baking... Have a great day!!!

I have the feelings that this Christmas will be awkward. It was just Thanksgiving that I was bringing my girlfriend to my family events and now we are broken up. I am going to feel so out of place, with my brother bringing his girlfriend and everyone expecting mine to be there. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to tell them.
Anyways, a new laptop sounds like a good time. Have fun! :)

Thanks guys for the comments. It won't be a bad xmas, just toned down and I think I prefer it this way this year. Chance, I know it's going to be hard. Just tell them the truth, that it didn't work out between the two of you. They love you for who you are, not for who you have on your arm at the time or if you don't have someone on your arm at this time. Try to enjoy and have fun.
