| Happy the divorce is done

It was D-day yesterday. It really went well overall. We had gone through mediation on Monday so all the business was done. It was just a matter of answering yes and no questions. I choked up a little, but then again, after giving someone over 18 years of your life, it happens. I am only human.
My settlement is good. Much better for me than for him in the long run. I will have enough to refinance the house in my own name. Now if the housing market would turn around, I would sell and get a smaller place, but for now, I will put my efforts into this home.
Just before going into court, my best friend also had to appear in traffic court. It was just too coincidental that we were both there are the same time. He drove up in his mustang and we sat inside and talked until it was time to go inside the courthouse. We got out of his mustang just as my ex walked by. My friend gave me a big hug and wished me luck right in front of the ex. Icing on the cake.
After finishing in court, I went back to work and my boss prompty informed me that I was given a dollar an hour raise. WOOT! A cherry on top of the icing.
Tonight I have a date, too. I have been chatting with this guy on the phone since December, but we just haven't gotten together. Well, tonight I am going out to meet him. He seems like a real devoted father. So, I am going out and we will see from there.
Ok, single life is good so far, lol. I am happy... |
