| Maybe we don't have it so bad.....
I find a strange comfort in reading many of these blogs. I'm new to this site but I can tell it is far more personal than many of the other blogging or community journal sites. I also don't know how I feel about reading other people's problems and having that make me feel better about my own. It sounds selfish to me and I feel slightly guilty about it. I came on here thinking I had huge issues cause I need to lose some weight but then I got to reading some other posts and read things about murdered friends and being raped and being suicidal and I think that my purpose for being on this site seems so trivial compared to the stories that many other people have. Anyone else think about stuff like that when they read other posts?

Hello NewYear!
Just like in real life, you are certain to find people here that have problems worse than your own, but as BDS said, that doesn't mean they are any less valid!
I am sure there are people that would love to be reminded that there are people out there to remind them that life can have less problems, and I bet people would also enjoy hearing about your success in weight loss! :)

like i have always tried to say "no matter how bad it is, there is always someone else out there worse off than me (you, whoever)
to answer your question, my thoughts when reading other posts change from: it must suck to be them, boring, wow, interesting, that is so much like me...
