Our daughter has epilepsy. It has been tough. We have learned a lot, about faith, epilepsy, people.
Here is a story of how God has worked in our lives:
We
belong to a very small church that does a lot of outreach to area
children. We ran a sports camp on Monday nights for the second
summer in a row this past summer. A teacher from my childrens'
school that knew all about my daughters epilepsy had brought her
daughter to the cheerleading portion last year. She knew that I
would be helping at it again this year, so she told her friend about
it. Her friend has a daughter the same age as my daughter that
also has epilepsy. Same types of seizures even. Same
struggles with school. Same problems with people not
understanding epilepsy. She ended up bringing her daughter to our
camp on Monday Nights, because she was comfortable leaving her there,
knowing that I would be there, and would know how to handle the
situation should she seize... (which she did). Anyway, our
daughters became friends, and they now are attending our church!
We talk all of the time, we understand what each other is going
through. The hard part is, is that Natalie has been seizure free
for 4 weeks, and this other little girl is still suffering. We
layed hands on her today after church, and had a great prayer session
for her. I am just so in awe that God brought us together when we
needed eachother the most. This mom and I, and our daughters!
