| Eng 96 Blog 2: Friendship

Friends are an important part of my life.
For the most part they have a stong influence on my daily moods.
If I am in a bicker with one I may be a lot less excited for the day.
But when i am in nothing more then laughter and jokes withthem I am all smiles.
(I mean theyre not the only factors that mold my moods, but they are impacting).
When I was little, I used to believe
in the concept of one best friend,
and then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, God
would show you the best in many friends.
One friend is needed when you're
going through things with your mom.
Another friend is needed when you're
going through things with your man.
Another when you want to shop,
share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say let's pray together, another let's cry together,
another let's fight together, another let's walk away together.
One friend will meet your spiritual
need, another your shoes, another
your love for movies, another will be with you in your season of
confusion, another will be your clarifier, another the wind beneath
your wings.
But whatever their assignment in your life, on whatever the occasion,
on whatever the day, or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym
shoes on and hair pulled back, or to hold you back from making a
complete fool of yourself ... those are your best friends.
It may all be wrapped up in one woman,
but for many it's wrapped up in several...
one from 7th grade, one from high school, several from the college
years, a couple from old jobs, several from church, on some days your
mother, on some days your neighbor, on others your sisters, and on
some days your daughters, granddaughters or nieces.
I have so many more friends to encounter,
especially since I plan to live a life full of unexpected journeys.
But the friends I have made thus far are beautiful people, and help me in every aspect of my life.
People say it's hard to be friends with girls because they may be two-faced or decieving, but not my girls.
I accept my girls for their mishaps and their flaws..and that allows us to see one another in
a deeper sense.
Realize the potential in all ur friends..and differentiate your true ones
from those who dont really count.
Whether uve been there for me for 20 minutes or 20 years..
the fact still remains you have me..and i will definately always have you in my heart.

That's so true how you mentioned about "differentuating your true ones form those who dont really count." I guess it's bound for us to learn and know who are close and is a "true friend." It's better to have few true friends who have your back rather than having so many so called friends and not knowing if they're really there for you or not...You've put a great description of what a friend really is.

You are right about friends you can tell who are the ones that are there for you in good times and bad times and the one's who are there to just to party. As I have grown up I have notice what are good friend's and who are not good friends . what I do is I try to stay close to the ones who are good friends and hang out with them eveytime I Have chance and with ones who are not that good I try to saty away from them. Yes its fun when you hang out with people who have a bad influance in your slef because you think it's cool but then you know that they are not real freinds when you are down because they are there for you.

its awesome u can have them as your friends. its always better to not be alone and have someone there for you. i wish i could have more, but i fall into the one best friend category. my boy will always be there for me and i will always have his back. we always give each other the best advice. i have encountered many people who can classify as my friends, but most of them i just talk to once in awhile and thats it. i try to be the nice guy and be a good friend, but most of these "friends" wont call or just stop talking to me period.

I like how you mentioned that friends don't always serve the same purpose (some help you with family issues, other for "boy" problems, others to just have fun, etc.) So true. Some friends are brought into your life for a purpose and, even if the friendship did not last forever, the influence the friend had on your life at the time stays with you.
