 Its a mad mad world!

I had to stay in all day today, waiting for the delivery of a new cooker extractor. An e-mail reliably informs me that upon delivery the said item must be checked for scratches etc before signing. When it arrived, the delivery man wouldn't wait while I checked it over, insisting that I was signing for an unopened package. Left hand not knowing what the right hand is up to syndrome me thinks! Anyway I looked AFTER he'd sped off & all seems well.

This little episode was shortly followed by my son coming in from school, he'd been sent home to retrieve the school blazer which he'd forgotten to put on this morning (for the first time in four years). Because I was waiting for the lovely delivery man, I couldn't take the blazer up to the school.

For this 'life lesson' he missed two classes, maths & resistant materials. Its good to know that such a high level of common sense is rife amongst the mentors of our future generations - not! To add insult, the school rang me to ask why he wasn't back at school yet? - BECAUSE YOU SENT HIM HOME ON A ROUND FIVE MILE TRIP ON FOOT YOU DOZY BIMBO (you'll be relieved to know that I thought this, rather than voiced it).

People complain about the way children are today, but you've got to wonder what part some teachers play in this, sometimes they leave me speechless!

It is a mad mad world out there!
