Just a coincidence I found.
In Lost (TV series) a character called Desmond Hume somehow can jump his mind back and forth in time.
We don't know how this happens, only know that he was exposed to a very intense source of electromagnetism.

I, from a time I couldn't tell exactly, thought that could be amazing (and maybe possible) the ability to travel in time, but I also was reluctant to believe tha an entire person (mind-body-soul) could make those travels. If time is in fact the 4th dimension, then is correct to affirm that we are connected with our past and future of ourselves. Actually I do belive that is the mind what is connected (I did have, sadly just once, a precognitive dream... with an almost unbelievable accuracy, without having any sort of clues from my concious mind, all happened in the subconcious). Also it is conffirmed that the mind can storage enormous ammount of information, everything that happened to us, every memmory, every smell, taste, touch is storaged there. We could remember anything if we just knew where to look. It's like a huge hard drive, but with a not so good directory structure.

So, having know that, plus my beliefs, I fantasized with the idea of being back in time, when I was just a kid e.g.,
but mind was the same... like bodies being just a recipe from our minds, and we just jump from one to another selves in time. (something similiar to the main concept in the 2004 film Butterfly Effect).

Ok, so far so good with a TV series character doing that.

But... a recent computer game brought something to my attention.
In the 2008 game Assassin's Creed (Ubisoft) we play the role of a man, in the actual present, who is forced to
make some mind experiments by a group of scientists. These claims that our mind is connected with our acentor's ones, they give the example of birds taking the same route within ages (in fact, I knew elephants can do that, remember... or just know somehow... the path of their ancestors... elephant memmory idea comes from that). So, the scientists developed an artifact which can take a subject's mind back in time, to an ancestor's past.
We play the game jumping by lying on this machine, choosing from a moment in the past... and connecting our mind with the ancestor's mind. In the game we actually don't travel in time, the machine does a representation of the reality and we live in it, like in a dream (very much like in The Matrix).

A concept very similar to the mind travelling by Desmond Hume in Lost.
