I'm not sure how many of you have met a writer, but if you meet a serious writer you'll notice a few things. Some are very interesting and some can be very shy, but all writers are a little bit strange. When you're a blocked writer, it kills you! Some may sit at the desk and freakout, but most just avoid the writing space all together. Not only can we not write when we're blocked, but it hurts. We stress, and I personally feel sick with dissapointment. I am a writer who is blocked all of the time, in fact, I can't think of one time when I was inspired. Things just don't touch me in a way that gets the creative juices flowing. If I don't force myself on a project I'll let it sit for months. I can't afford to do that but that's what happens. So this time, I was going to make sure that I'd get something done. So I took an Ace bandage and wrapped my leg to the desk leg. That way I couldn't fidgit and roll around in the chair like I normally do.I couldn't leave for anything until I reached a certain goal, and luckily it worked. Writers can be very strange but dedicated people. I'm so glad that I tied myself to the desk, my story has taken an unexpected turn for the better.
