| I Have Been Sold! |
Hi Everyone!
When your electric company is bought out by another electric company, do you have to buy a new refrigerator? Or maybe when your garbage pick-up company sells to another - are you forced to buy new trashcans?
The reason I ask this is because literally months ago my cell phone company (All-tel) was bought-out by Verizon. Hey, no biggie! For months upon months now there has been no problem at all and when your contract expires - you simply transfer over to the Verizon one if you wish.
Now though the rules have changed! By October I must now purchase all new Verizon cell phones without any special transfer deals! I must alter all the existing contracts by then and for me - that means I have to purchase 5 new phones no matter what!! Two of the telephones are identical to what Verizon offers but hey, no Verizon logo on it so, "You have to get rid of that" as well.
I find all of this quite frustrating because even the frequency is the same so there is no change to anything. Oh, I do have to take new cell phone numbers though so that will also change to a different exchange now as well - making it a long distance call if I dial my own cell phone from my home telephone though both will be in the room of the house!
One would think if a company buys out another that the customers wouldn't have to be punished for the purchase but I guess Verizon doesn't matter if their company looks good to their already locked-in customers or not.
Just another trivial rant that helps to eat away at my patience and in this case - my wallet as well.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
