| continuing on the undertow theme

When the waters are rough and the waves are huge in the ocean, it is a given that the undertow will be really strong. If I dare to go swimming that day at all I would stick close to the shore, being aware of the reality that the undertow will be stronger that day.
Huge aha moment this morning when i realized that it would be helpful to apply those same pieces of logic to my journey. My life has given me some pretty huge waves to deal with. I sometimes have strong emotional responses to those waves. Radical acceptance gives me room to breath and just be --- like standing in the water up to my knees and feeling the wave and also the undertow. Ebb and flow!
