 New Interests stave off depression
Something I really haven't covered in this blog, (for those few of you who are reading it) is the definite advantage of having an 'all-consuming interest' you can turn to when you feel depressed.

I say 'all consuming', because it helps to have something that takes up all your time and energy so you have none left for depression!

Does depression take a lot of energy?  Of course!  Why else would we feel so drained?
However, you CAN learn how to channel that energy into more productive avenues.....

One of my long-term allies has been blogging.  I have several scattered across the web.  Just lately though, I have been involved in building my own website/blog and it pretty much eats my every spare minute!

I remember back in the 'bad old days', when my depression was out of control, I used to sit in front of the computer and surf for hours.  I could do that, I had just gotten a divorce!  After 4-5 hours had gone by, I realized I hadn't been depressed that whole time!  Maybe not on top of the world exactly, but at least it was a relief!

So, that's one more tip you can use--- get a hobby, a passion, a life!

     And leave depression behind you!

Hugs!

Writing can give us a vision in life.
Depression comes when we have no goals and dreams.
Writing gives you that instant kickback of feeling as if you have added something to the world.
Keep writing.
A busy mind, destroys depression.

Better depression being destroyed-than our minds being destroyed by depression.
Peace.
