 The cards I was dealt...
I have in my hand an Ace, a King, two jacks and the two of hearts. I sit back and assess the value of my given hand. There’s the Ace, a card of dual value. Claiming an ace is synonymous with loyalty and assigning high regard to their character. Aces never let you down and can simply be all you need to dominate the game. Our connection has been of dual value, lover to best friend. Nobody understands what we understand but us. You allowed me to grow and stood by me like a true Ace would. No matter the label, you continue to support. So I’ll hold this card close, it stays with me, separate from the other cards. Then there are my two jacks.  Not quite the King, submissive to the Queen, and interchangeable, nonetheless good all around cards. You both were my jacks. You both showed me what it feels like to be adored and allowed me to understand just how far a man would go. You set a standard and allowed me to strengthen my ground along with my mentality. You opened my eyes to my own worth. Our pages were on different numbers so I’ll put this pair pack into the deck so you have the chance to find your Queen that you deserve. And then there’s the King. A king is use to the world being at his feet and use to being in the position of power. His every whim is catered too. Most Kings are born into or given that power and rarely ever are the lion they portray. You could’ve have been the King by my side, you reigned over my emotions and ruled my mentality. I instinctively became submissive to you as if you were my true supreme. Instead you began to resemble the Joker, exuding trickery and foolishness. The throne you placed yourself on was nothing but lies. I already gave you what I had so this card gets thrown out… and all I have left in my hand to give you, my King, is the deuce and that’s from the heart.
