Otherwise known as the day I did something I never thought I would:
I created a blog.
Sure, it was a project for class, not an act of free will, but nonetheless here we are.
It's April and I have *gulp* ... a Blog.
I wont lie, I always thought blogs were kind of lame and pretentious. Maybe that's because I associate them with MySpace and those gossip blogs MTV always airs about the dirty secrets of celebrity lives.
I never thought I'd earn the title, "Blogger" until now.

Blog Blog Blog.
I like blog.
The word reminds me of the old Robin Williams movie, "Flubber." I think if a blog was something tangeable, it would look like Flubber.

Blogging.
Is that a verb?
What should I write about whilst "Blogging"? Should I write about you? should I write about me? Should i write about Britney Spears' cellulite, or Lindsay Lohan's DUI?
Is it a sin to not write at all? Is it arrogant to assume that anyone is, or has any desire to read my blogs? (whats the plural of Blog anyway? Is it one of those exceptions like Oxen or cacti?)

Since you are here reading my Blog, I should introduce myself so I'm not just words in hypertext.

I'm a first year University student and I'm pretty much going to save the world.

I carry a little book with me because one of my best friends told me I talk like a writer. Sometimes I'll say something that sounds like a piece of a poem or book and when I do, I write it down.
It's nerdy, but I dont care. I'm a genius.

I like art and writing. I'm going into Journalism because I feel like I have something to give.
I'm pretty much going to save the world.

I just want to throw it out there that I hate the internet.

I can't get Limewire to work, spam fills up my inbox and Facebook is the devil.

However, as a budding journalist in a world where technological advances spread like wildfire and Print media is nearing extinction, it's probably for the best that I suck it up and adapt. A chinese proverb teaches us, "it's better to bend with the wind than to break."

I'm from a city in the GTA, a modest 94,000 people. Nothing much happens here, since 90,000 of us are old and bitter. My basic ambition in life is to leave my hometown before I become a Lifer.

In case you feel like stalking me, my last name is Kann, which, if translated out of German, means something along the lines of, 'jug' or 'carrier'. Which I find kind of funny in a phonetic way. (Can, Kann, jug... Get it? No? ... I suppose it's one of those, 'you had to be there,' sort of things.) In high school a friend of mine used to call me "Mien Kann," a play on my german heritage, since im fairly convinced he was in love with me. It's less funny if I tell you I'm predominantly Belgian and Scottish.

I used to want to be a teacher and then I changed my mind because I was afraid I'd corrupt the children. I'm a little cynical, for those of you who haven't picked up on the sarcasm thus far. I've decided corrupting a whole viewer audience is more my style.

I'm not sure if I'm saying anything in my Blog that's worth reading, though I'm not sure if Blogs are worth reading in the first place.

But feel free to agree, disagree and argue, I guess.

After all, before I was a Blogger, I was an artist, so I understand the idea of controversy. I think thats what reminds me the world we live in still has a pulse. Especially this politically correct world we've created for ourselves where everything's packaged in bubble wrap so no one slips and hurts their feelings.
So write on, Bloggers.
I'm jumping on the Blog bandwagon.
Lets write some blogs about something real.
