This is the way I try to keep my gas bill down
By keeping the thermostat down.  What else can I do?  Our outside temperature is from 20 to 45 during the day.  It can go down below 20 at night.   It is so expensive to run furnace now.  Most of the time when I am at home just by myself I have the thermostat set at 60F.  Only when my dear husband gets up in the morning I set it at 68F and manual set higher when he comes home.  Of course when we go to sleep it will be turned down too.  We have a space heater to run in our bedroom to keep us warm when we sleep.

And my gas and electric bill is still about $100 each!  Winter just started.  I wear 3 layers of clothes with hat and a scarf indoor.  My poor cat Tigger curls up into a tight ball and you can’t make out where is her head and tail.  I will gently move her near the gas fireplace and turn it on until she stretches out comfortably.

My hands and feet are so cold.  I lounge on the sofa with a fleece blanket all the time.  I can’t do anything.  My dear friend Betty tells me to soak my feet in a bucket of hot water, which is really help.

Next I need to do is to cook something will keep me warm throughout the winter.
