 Miss America: Reality Check
So, I'm sitting here watching the new TLC show Miss America:Reality Check, and I can already tell that I am going to love this. This is one of those reality tv shows that I think has it right-screw the typical pageant woman, what about her personality, strengths, weaknesses, hopes, dreams, etc? I think it's great that these women-who supposedly represent America-are being subjected to a more realistic set of standards. The majority of American women do NOT look like they belong in the pages of a beauty magazine, so that shouldn't be what is important. And, please God, please please please PLEASE let them show a little personality, independent thought, and originality instead of the regurgitated answers heard every year. Yay for this new show!

That's not the way it used to be... the pageant wasn't invented to objectify women-but the degredation of society in general has brought it down over the years to the level of women being considered 'sex objects'.
