I think it may concern whatever state your in. Although if your parent/s approve, you'll be able to go for it. Otherwise, check the laws for your state on Age of Consent.
I was there where you are now, but I was lucky enough that my mother really didn't give a shit!

| #1 if your parents don't agree, they can get him for statutory it doesn't matter if you consented or not, you're not legally an adult. #2 be careful, you're only 16 and he's 20, in a few years the age difference wont matter but right now, it's big. I dated a 16 year old when I was 18 and ended up hurting him badly because we weren't on the same page emotionally. Please use protection and be careful, you don't want to end up a single mother at the age of 16, you have your whole life ahead of you. Ask yourself if this is really worth it. |

After thinking about this while writing in my blog, I have to ask...
what do you think this guy is going to do with you once he's gotten what he wants from you? Afterall, he is twenty. He will be twenty-one and going out to clubs and bars meeting other women and you won't be able to be there with him because you will only be 17. And he will probably lie to you about where he has been and who he has been with. You really don't need the drama or stress at your age. Enjoy life!! Think of your future girl!
You may feel some sexual tension and want this man very badly, but what will it really do for you in the end? And is he really worth your effort and time?
I thought of my relationship when I was 15 and my bf was 22. In the end after all that time, it all came to me as being a waste of those years. He always left me to go out with his friends to places I couldn't go and I stayed home doing nothing, or hanging with my friends still feeling the void.
If I could go back, I would really stay away from him and get someone that was probably atleast 18. Not in his twenties. That way, we would both have to do things together and there wouldn't have been any excuses.
I know a big percentage of the boys your age are completely immature. And I know your going to do what your going to do, but you must have some kind of concience for asking for advice in the first place. Maybe you know it would be bad for you to do this.
Ahh, ok, saying too much. I know. I didn't want to hear it at your age either. I always just wanted to be left alone to do what I wanted. But remember, there are always consequences, and Karma is a btch!

well the age thing i think is differnce depending on where u live and i wud personally not worrie about telling ur parents i never told my parent but then i was 12 :s sick i no but peer perssure so i denelty was not going to tell them ......... but i wud not be worrie about the age thing there is 9 years between me and my other half and we live togher now and been with each other for a year ..... but i wud wait till u understand alot more about sex i dont mean to be rude but if u dont no your legaly age to have sex in ur state then u might want to learn a few thing about it all befor u go ahead but then ....i think if u feel u are ready then go for it i may have been yougn when i first had sex and the guy was a hell of alot older then me i mean a hell off alot older as in if people found out about as he wud have been put away for a long long long time but i dont regret it its made me who i am today and i love all my pass bad and good i hope u can feel the same
