So, I have decided that I am a different person when I’m vacationing in my happy place. I’m happy the whole time, I greet complete strangers while walking/biking (can’t do that at Wal*Mart without getting that “OMG, she’s crazy” look) & talking with a good looking guy about the Brewers. The last one really surprised me. I typically don’t approach people, especially a good looking fellow, & just start talking to them. Didn’t bother me one bit, I checked out who was hanging at the outside bar & this guy who was wearing Brewers stuff caught my eye (as I did for him – I was wearing my pink Brewers shirt). I swung open the door & asked him about the status of the game. They unfortunately lost but talked with him while waiting to be seated for dinner. That is totally out of the norm for me but I loved it! Just wish I had those types of nerves closer to home.
I had such a great time – I hung out around the fire chatting away with our camping friends, enjoying some delicious campfire treats & catching a sporadic call of the loons (I love loons!). Did some shopping where I got me two Junior items (that’s Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) & two Brewers items from one of the local stores (& my favorite stop). Then got me some two chocolate turtles & a half pound of vanilla fudge…we’ll just say that both of those things are distant memories. Yummy! Biked once for ice cream at “The Corner Store” & they didn’t have any of my favorites (Bubble Gum, Apple Pie or New York Cherry), so I had to settle for Mint Chocolate Chip. It was okay but not one of my favorites. However, the second time we went for ice cream, they did have Bubble Gum! Yippee!
I wanted to take my biking slow since it was the first time on my bike this year. I took short trips & then decided to go a little further on my third trip. Not a good idea. By the time I got back to the camper, my knee was so swollen that I could barely walk. I fear that surgery is looming in the near future. Eeek!
I just cannot wait until the next trip Up North. I never want to come home cuz life up there is just SO great…however, I would miss all of you cuz I would not have access to Thoughts. :)
PS – a couple more days until my visit to see LadieGodiva! I am SO excited to see her! I miss her here at the place of employment SO much! If there are pictures of us posted shortly after the visit next to a giant cock (aka chicken) do not be alarmed. Ha!

This a real comment, Mandie! Your vacation sounds fun. I, too, always have more courage talking to strangers when on vacation. Less pressure, no expectations etc. I was wondering what you and Ladiegodiva meant when you kept referring to the big cock. NOW I understand.....

Hey Mandie, sounds like a perfect holiday ... riding a bike to get ice-cream - that would be great. You eat the ice cream and then ride off what you've just eaten!! LOL (although not so good for your knee ... ouch)
So I'm going to ask .. what's a LOON??
the only loons we have here in Australia are some of the people you come across!! LOL
