Well, another year is gone & in the spirit, I’m blogging about it.
For the most part it was a good year. Had a couple bumps in the road but for the most part, there is nothing about the year that I would take back. From camping trips at Crystal to the Balloon Rally to just hanging out with my besties, it’s been a good year.
This year was the year that I stepped up at work & demanded a raise that I thought I deserved. I work for two attorneys & I’m able to keep everything up to date & organized for the both of them…which can be a challenge sometimes. Not only did I get what I wanted but they went above that. Booyeah! My five year anniversary will be in mid-February which means I get an additional week of vacation. Can I get another “Booyeah!”?!
This year was my first year with the Balloon Rally & it was great! I felt as if I really made a difference. I wish that I would have gotten into it earlier than I had & that it didn’t take a death to get me to do so (Miss you, John!). I will begin work on it again starting in February. Not only did I contribute at the Rally itself but I also wrote a piece about the founder of the Rally, John, who died last August (a week before the Rally) in a skydiving accident. I was really nervous about that but I got positive feedback from everyone. So, that was good.
Not only did I do some work with Balloon Rally but I also donated 10½ inches of hair to Locks of Love in November. I’m looking forward to doing it again but this time I’m gonna shoot for growing at least 12 inches. I’ll need some reinforcement during those “I Wanna Cut My Hair Days”. Luckily, though, I have found someone who will be doing it along with me so we are gonna try to keep each other strong.
I’m still slowly working on improvements on the abode. I’ve gotten new flooring in the kitchen, totally redid the backporch & thanks to Hailstorm ’07, I got a new roof. Awhoo hoo! There are a few projects that I would like to tackle this winter – painting, flooring, etc. Which means lots of trips to The Home Depot! Yippee! Ha, ha!
I have made multiple trips up to Crystal (my happy place), other camping destinations (the Jellystone in the Dells sucks!), the Ted Nugent concert in Wausau & the annual Noah’s Ark trip with the girls in August. I am SO excited to return to Crystal on Memorial Day & let the summertime fun begin again. I’m thankful that this year I gained another week of vacation. Let the good times roll!
I’ve also met some super-fantastic people over the course of 2007 - especially all of you! I’ve also “re-met” some people from high school – thank you, MySpace! Ha!
Overall, 2007 was a good year. I cannot wait to see what 2008 has in store – the MN trip in February, trips to Crystal, the annual Noah’s Ark trip (I already know the date!), our sporadic girls’ nights (even though we only have two drinks & talk about the good times we USED to have – ha!), etc., etc., etc.
Hope yall have a great 2008!
Love ya all,
