For the most part, I had a pretty good weekend – went out to supper with the fam on Friday night, went to my sister’s & burned some CDs, did some shopping (I found my Corey Hart shirt – awhoo hoo!), went out Saturday night & then hung out with the fam yesterday watching the race.
The outing Saturday night, it was mostly good (it was for a friend’s birthday). However, there was a very large bump. The gap between two of my “best friends” & I have grown even larger. I started the evening off with my sister & one of my other best friends, Kim. We hung out at Kim’s for a drink & we were rockin’ to some good tunes. Well, Kim got into an argument with her husband, so we left him home & ventured off. I was dogsitting for the weekend for StickBoss so had to go let the pups out. So, we decided that instead of backtracking & going back to the west side of town, that we would check out the new bar downtown & then meet everyone else when they ventured downtown. We already got attitude – one text from Melissa (one of the “best friends) read “Fine. Have fun.” We did. We all got a drink & decided to play some darts. Little did we know when we put the money in, that the bar only had one dart cuz the folks who played before us broke the other two. So, let me tell you, it was the most exercise I’ve ever gotten during a game of darts cuz we had to keep walking up to the board & back. Note: put darts in bar purse! Anywho, so we’re having a good ol’ time. Well, after we finish up our game, we decide that we better go meet up with everyone else. Kim already called & said that they weren’t going to talk to us. We walk in & talk to the birthday boy, Travis, & Melissa’s husband, Chad. Now, when you get into a convo with Chad, it’s hard to get out of it. So, I’m chatting with Chad & Jill (the other “best friend”) does say hi to me but due to the fact that I’m stuck in the “Chad Vortex” I’m unable to talk to her. She bounces over the bar. After I was able to pull myself from Chad, it was decided that Kim, Melinda (my sister) & I would play some more darts again since we had more than one dart. Not once did Melissa come to say anything to me. Nothing! Jill didn’t talk to us anymore either. Then everyone else left to go out to Perkins & nobody said good-bye or invite Kim or me. So, needless to say, we were both a little upset. I’m very happy that I have Kim. I was also telling her that if it wasn’t for her & Jessica (yes, you!), I think that I would completely lose it. I’ve started reevaluating my so-called friends.
I’ve been pondering about opening up communication with one of my friends that I had a blowout with over a year ago – maybe I choose the wrong friend, when I choose Melissa. Melissa has always been pretty selfish but it’s lately becoming quite clear how selfish she really is. If it wasn’t for me, she wouldn’t have anybody. I’m not even kidding! All her friends, she met through me. Her husband, she met through Jill (who has been a friend of mine since high school). I opened up to her & told her about my seasonal depression cuz she has gone through depression & I thought that she would be willing to help me out & be there for me – she wasn’t, but Rhino & his wife were.
It’s been pretty rough lately. I had to take sleeping pills last night cuz I knew that if I didn’t that my mind would be just a-going with this stuff.
I’m in the process of planning a trip to visit Jessica & I cannot wait! I feel more connected to Jessica than I do with Melissa & Jill. I feel that Jessica is my sister even though we’ve only known each other for a short time. She is one of my best friends! Love ya, girl! I am really super excited to venture down & visit you & Aaron – we always have a blasty blast, don’t we?! :)
Well, enough of the sap. I’m sure that since I really don’t have much left to do, that I will come up with something funny to write about later.
Hope you have a happy Monday!
